Surprising Opposition…

I recently posted on an easy way to help your wife.  It was an article with 10 great reasons why men should sit down to take a leak.  Though the opposition didn’t decide to post, I did hear from a number of people.

I was a bit surpised at the reactions.  Everyone that I heard from seems to have a general idea of, “I’m a man, I stand to leak!”  Well, let me present this situation:

You have a desk at home.  Your wife starts eating meals at it, and always leaves crumbs.  You are the one always having to pick up the crumbs.  How long would it be before you tell her to stop eating at your desk, or to clean up the crumbs?  If you are honest with yourself, it wouldn’t take you long at all.

This is similar to what your wife has to do.  She doesn’t leave “crumbs” (splashes of urine) on the toilet and the area around the toilet.  You do - if you stand to take a leak.  She’s the one to clean it up all the time.

I’m not really sure why us men have adopted the concept of needing to stand when we take a leak.  It makes sense in a urinal - but not in a toilet.  Being a man is also wanting to do things right and logically, right?  Then I propose we change this, take our seats, and give a little extra respect to those who do the cleaning.

Now, who’s with me?

Or your wife could serve you by cleaning up the crumbs she left at your desk.

Scott - I’m glad I know you. :)

Or you could install a little table for eating next to the desk. :)

I’m glad I know you too.

Man, you must be the messiest leak-taker! We don’t seem to have this issue in our house.

I totally resonate with you and your aim to serve your wife, but I totally disagree with your notion that you have to sit down to do so.

I’m really glad that you and Kirstjen have found a compromise for this complex issue.

Happy squatting.

PS - Just a thought, when you’re out in the woods and nature calls, would you sit down? :-)

Well - you could at least ask your wife and see what she thinks I suppose.

Why would I sit down when I’m in the woods? You are missing the point if you think that I think that you should sit down to take a leak at all times. I wouldn’t be possibly making a mess for my wife to clean up if I were in the woods.

Hey now. I regularly clean the bathroom! No besmirching those that are living far away. :)

love you Scott, you were never messy to the best of our recollection.

I hope you got the whole pedal thing worked out.

I neglected to put the positive first on my prior comment. Josh, I will say that I am glad to see that you are finding new ways to serve your wife. Everyone should seek different ways in which they can put another before themselves. I am sure your wife is delighted to be a recipient of this new way you are serving her. For our family, I feel well served regarding this topic and in a myriad of others.

Continue seeking ways to look to the interest of others before your own. -Emily
