I Am Not Upset With My Church

I have been discussing my thoughts about the Holy Spirit with a good friend, here and there.  A couple of days ago he stopped me and asked, “where are you going with all of this?”  I was thrown a curve ball with that question because I thought we were having a very fruitful conversation.  Turns out that other people who have talked with him about similar matters were frustrated with their church.  They started to assume that since their church wasn’t experiencing the gifts of the Holy Spirit in the services, that something was wrong with the church.

So, I am writing this to make it known that I am not at all upset with our church.   I know that our church is not perfect by any means.  No church is.  My purpose is not at all to say that the church is failing in regards to the works of the Holy Spirit.  I am just very interested in the work of the Holy Spirit, and I feel quite unfamiliar with it.  I am very thankful for my church, and my wife and I love being members there.  The gospel is preached, Jesus is made much of, missionaries are equipped, sent out, and supported, there are many ministries to be a part of, etc.  I could write a long list of the ways I see God working in our church, and how the church has blessed me, my family, and many others.
